The UTSA Institute for Economic Development offers professional, confidential one-on-one advising to business owners looking to start or expand their business. Programs and Centers provide management advising in a variety of areas including accounting, financing and loan packaging, capital acquisition, business planning, marketing, human resources, economic development, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
The Institute also provides advisory consultative solutions to community clients in order to advance business, community and economic development in the rural areas of the 79-county region served by UTSA.
The many programs and centers at the Institute provide economically friendly workshops on a variety of business topics. Learn about business planning, business start-up, online and traditional marketing, accounting and finance, e-commerce, technology and more. Receive in depth information from experienced business advisors and guest speakers as they share their insight on topics important to entrepreneurs in San Antonio and the surrounding counties.

The SBDC National Information Clearinghouse is dedicated to meeting the needs of the 1,100 small business development centers across the United States by providing a broad range of financial, market and demographic research reports customized to a client’s industry and geographic location. Reports must be requested by an SBDC Advisor.
The Center for Community and Business Research serves the needs of economic development agencies, workforce development boards, businesses, associations, city, state and federal governments and other community stakeholders in search of information to make better decisions. The Center develops, conducts and reports on research projects that are designed to shed light on how organizations, communities, or the economy work.
